FIREHOUSE LIVE IN MILWAUKEE........

Last week I was extremely happy to see one of my all-time favorite bands roll through Milwaukee...Firehouse. It was great to see these guys again. I have been an avid fan since Day 1. Yesterday also marked the 25th Anniversary of the release of their hugely successful & enduring debut album: "Firehouse". They rolled through their set which was super tight, with great harmonies, and showed as always why this band continues to be a huge favorite with all music fans in their shows all over this planet. Plus the fact that they unfailingly take time out before and after the show to talk to every single fan that waits to have a few words with them. I have seen them sit for a long time after the show until every last person has gone through a very long line. It really is a great thing to see.

Long regarded as one of the most explosive & powerful drummers in Rock, Michael Foster, was great about sitting down and using his Beier 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 15 for the show. Few players play with as much power as he does, and it is all done with finesse & amazingly solid & never-miss timing, Add to that...It is also never over-done which is a characteristic of all of the great players.

Bill Leverty has also produced an excellent series of solo records...Among which "Southern Exposure" is near the top of my personal list. This is a purely instrumental record, and Michael Foster was behind the kit for the entire record. It is difficult enough to produce a single instrumentally. But to do an entire record, of this caliber, is a monumental musical feat. How good does a player have to write, perform and distribute something like this? Yeah...THAT good.

Thanks Again for everything Michael and all of you guys....See you all soon~

JAZZ IS DEAD.....ROD MORGENSTEIN.....

Was truly delighted to hear some great news from Rod Morgenstein recently. He said he had used one of his two Beier 1.5 Steel Snares on several "Jazz Is Dead" gigs, and the drum "Played great and sounded great". Wonderful news coming from one of the top performers, clinicians, teacher, and all-around good guys in this business for decades. And he is still at the top of his game. Thanks Again Rod....Hope to see you live soon with Winger, or Jazz Is Dead...

ACHIM FAERBER TO TOUR AUSTRALIA WITH AUTOMAT~EISBRECHER LIVE DVD-NEW PETER HEPPNER ACOUSTIC TOUR

Top tier live performer and studio clinician Achim Faerber is on his way in November to Australia with one of his many projects...Electronic music trio Automat. The band has met with great success, and have had a total of 5 releases in the last several years. No doubt Australia will give them a very warm reception. Achim has used a number of the 1.5 Steel Snares on every single Automat release, with the 5.5 x 14 being used the most. Achim is also the drummer for one of the top industrial metal bands in the world-Eisbrecher. They are just getting ready to release their live DVD-"Schock", and it is available for pre-order right now. Link and info below. He will also be beginning another acoustic tour with Peter Heppner that starts 9/16 in Hannover with one or more of the 1.5 Steel Snares.

This year will also see him using the Beier 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 13. Very much looking forward to your feedback Achim. I have done very few of these drums, but the ones that have been made and are on the road, have gone over extremely well with performers. Great to hear from you....As always....Many Thanks~
