SHANE GAMBLE-NEW SINGLE-TANGLED IN YOU-MIKE DAWSON-BEIER 1.5 STEEL 15" SERIES.....

Shane Gamble's new single: "Tangled In You" was released this Tuesday. It is a single from an upcoming full length album, and I have really been looking forward to this. This band is among my favorites, and I listen to them often. It is melodic, thoughtful music, with a band that is overflowing with talent. Mike Dawson used his 1.5 Steel--5.5 & 6.5 x 15 on this entire record, & also used his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 on Shane's 2015 record "American Heart".

Congrats you guy's on another hit, and Thanks Again going out to Mike Dawson. Cannot wait to hear the full album when it is released!...(Link below to Shane's website to purchase his music...)

BOB ML TRESSLER-THE NEW WHISKEY RIVER BAND-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14.....

Bob ML Tressler recently picked up his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 from Drum Center Of Portsmouth. Have had a lot of great discussions with Bob in recent month's, and was really looking forward to his take on the drum. He really, really knows exactly what he wants from a drum, and that is always very welcome here. Matching players up with what they want, a specific size, type of head, etc.., has always been the #1 priority here.

He was introduced to the drum by Keith Zebroski at a Miranda Lambert show, and contacted me after that show.  Bob was Keith's instructor in the early years, and they have stayed in touch. Keith had that same size of drum on tour. It was used on the later part of Kenny Chesney's Spread The Love Tour, Miranda Lambert's Keeper Of The Flame Tour, and part of the Highway Vagabond Tour.

Bob is incredibly active with his band: The New Whiskey River Band. They are continually playing live in a variety of settings and for different events. He also is laying tracks for upcoming Country artist Bentley Lewis. Live, and with the tracks for Bentley, he is using his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. Those will be done this Fall, and of course will update the Latest News on these.

Thanks Again for everything Bob. Thanks as well to Tony Interlande of Drum Center Of Portsmouth. You are always unbelievably helpful, and Bob could not have been happier with your service, and with this drum.

CHAD MELCHERT-FOUR-TIME CCMA DRUMMER OF THE YEAR-GORD BAMFORD-180 DRUMS PODCAST-BEIER DRUMS.....

Chad Melchert, four-time CCMA Drummer Of The Year, and touring/studio drummer for Gord Bamford, was recently on the 180 Drums Podcast. It is a great listen with timeless advice on drums, playing, and the business.

I really like Podcasts, and there are more of them all of the time. Every single one of them is really well done. It can be difficult sometimes time-wise to sit and fully listen to them. I always do though, and do so when I am in the office which is when I can truly listen fully to them. Invariably,  I am always really glad I did.

Chad is one of Canada's greatest drummers ever, and continues on a path in his career....A career that will only continue to get bigger than it already is.

Thanks for the mention Chad......

PETER RESLINSKI-THUNDER BAY BLUES FESTIVAL-LINDA RYMA PHOTOGRAPHY-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--7.5 X 15

Peter Reslinski recently picked up a 1.5 Steel--7.5 x 15 from Fork's Drum Closet in Nashville, and he wanted to use it July 9th at the Thunder Bay Blue Festival with his band Driven. The results?....Were Fantastic. He received numerous comments from band members, other acts, and sound engineers. Their set and the entire festival was a huge success. This is a huge 3-day, and all-day event as well.

Peter is also in the studio with Mark Saville laying tracks with this drum. This is always of huge interest to me, and will update this when those are released of course. Thanks as well to Linda Ryma Photography in Thunder Bay, Ontario for use of your excellent images of Peter and the band.

I really, really appreciate everything Peter, and am looking forward to staying in touch. Thank You for taking that drum with you.....

"Jim, my goodness, your snare blew the roof off the place. I've never had so much interest in a drum before. There were world-class touring acts, and world-class audio engineers....All blown away. THE HAILS-IMPEL-JULY 20TH RELEASE-BOBBY MACINTYRE OF STUDIO 71-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--4 X 15, 5.5 X 15, 6.5 X 15....

The Hails are set to release their debut EP on July 20th. It was recorded at Studio 71 with Bobby MacIntyre who is an industry leading engineer, producer, and player. Zach Taylor is the drummer for the band, and Bobby used the 1.5 Steel--4 x 15, 5.5 x 15, & 6.5 x 15 on this entire record. They have released a single (Parking Lot) that can be heard on Sound Cloud (link below). That has the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 on it. I really, really like the vibe of this band, and am looking forward to picking it up in a couple of days.

Bobby, with the arrival of his 1.5 Steel--7.5 x 15 this week, will be one of two people that has the entire collection of the Beier 15" Steel Series Snare Drums. They are his go-to mains for everything he does in the studio, and live. Currently he holds the seat with Nil Lara, and is involved in an almost endless list of projects in the studio. There are quite a few releases coming up that I am really looking forward to hearing.

Thank You Bobby for all of your non-stop support. Your one of the most in-depth players & producers I know, and are like a long-lost brother to me.....

TAILCREEK MUSIC FESTIVAL-DENNIS BOISVERT & DAN LEVASSEUR-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14....

I had a nice surprise from Canada several weeks ago......

Dennis Boisvert recently picked up a 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 (Gloss White) at Long & McQuade-Edmonton North after a clinic. The ever-helpful Mike Shawcross of Long & McQuade mentioned this to me in a conversation.

Recently the drum turned up with Dennis at the Tail Creek Mudfest/Music Festival. This is a large festival that runs from end of June to early July. As well, he was nice enough to let Dan Levasseur give the drum a spin during his set as well. I got huge compliments from both of these guy's, and it was wonderful to hear.

As well, Cory Harding is a widely known event photographer in Canada and covered the event. Want to extend my Thanks to him again for allowing use of the images he took. I am the world's worst photographer, and so-value these images from professionals like him.

Thank You Again Dennis for choosing one of my drums, Dan for taking time out and your comments, and again to Cory Harding, Mike Shawcross, and Long & McQuade~

MIKE DAWSON VIDEO-ENTIRE COLLECTION OF THE BEIER 1.5 STEEL 15" STEEL SERIES.......

Mike Dawson released a video last week of all four of the Beier 1.5 Steel 15" Snare Drums. This has been a LOT of fun reading the comments, and getting correspondence on it. It really is interesting to see what players think about each of the drums, and why. So far?.....The 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 is the winner!

I will be updating the Latest News on this video very soon. In the meantime, please do leave a comment or contact me directly with your thoughts.

Thank You Mike Dawson.....

THE OUTLAWS-LEGACY LIVE TOUR & SOUTHERN UPRISING TOUR 2017-MONTE YOHO....BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14 & 6.5 X 14...

The Outlaws are in the middle of a very busy tour season. They are currently on the Southern Uprising Tour, and their Legacy Live Tour.

Long-time user of my gear, and unbelievably loyal and supportive friend-Monte Yoho, has his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 out with him as his main, & 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 out as his auxiliary once again. These two drums have been on the road for years with him, and continue to be his go-to's always.

The band also have been in the studio recording for an upcoming release as a follow up to their two-disc set: Legacy Live. That album is considered by many to be one of the best live albums, from any band, in a long time. I have played it countless times, and it is a true live album from one of the greatest Southern Rock bands of all-time. To hear Monte using my drums on it, is something that will always be very meaningful to me.

Please do see their new website, & Thank You Monte.....Hope to see you guy's soon!

DOLL SKIN ON THE WARPED TOUR-MEGHAN HERRING-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 15-NEW RECORD.....SAVOIA CONCERT & EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY..

Wanted to send out a big Thanks to Meghan Herring of Doll Skin this morning....

The band  just recently wrapped up the Warped Tour '17, and it was great to see she had her 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 in Gloss White with her. That has been her primary drum for quite some time, it was used on their debut In Your Face, and also the extensive tour that followed.

The band is part of David Ellefson's EMP Label Group, & I saw them here in Madison, Wisconsin. These girl's were rockin, and are excellent musicians all the way around. I got to see my pal Randy Walker who was on the road with them at that time, and is also the person who introduced Meg to my drums. Looking forward to seeing him soon on the Ted Nugent 2017 Tour.

Please do see the link to their website below for tour dates, and to pick up their new release: Manic Pixie Dream Girl. Thank You Again Meg for taking that drum with you, and again to Mike at Savoia Concert & Event Photography for use of the incredible live shot!

THE KENNETH BRIAN BAND IN MILWAUKEE......

This last week I got knocked out musically. I had the opportunity to see the Kenneth Brian Band when they were in Milwaukee, and have never seen them before.

This band, as it is said...Is the Real Deal. This is old-school traditional Southern Rock at it's finest. From half-way through the first song, to the end of their set, I was amazed. In this particular genre of music, it is really hard to find new music, and guy's like this will keep it going. Southern Rock has always been one of my favorites since the day I started to truly listen to music. I am now a huge-huge fan of this band, and can say I always will be. Bands like this just do what they do, and do not alter it.

Steve Ferrone was playing drums for them, and does actively when he is not on the road. He was using a 1.5 Steel--7.5 x 15 which was set-up with an Ambassador/Hazy. I got there very early to secure a good set for this show, and had a bird's-eye view of him playing. He said about the drum: "It is a slamming drum, with lot's of room for dynamics. Definitely musical".

Shout out to Travis Stephens, one of the guitar players for the band, for taking time out to talk. These guy's came out to visit with people which really means a lot to fans. Had a nice discussion with him, and he is a great guy as well. He was on the side of the stage where I was sitting, and he is an incredible player.

The band also did an acoustic show at Harley Davidson here in Milwaukee, and that show was live-streamed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Music. They also will be heading out on tour towards the end of this month with another one of my favorites-Blackberry Smoke. Please check their website for tour details.

Thanks Again to the Kenneth Brian Band for an incredible afternoon. I am really looking forward to seeing you guy's live soon....

BLUE OYSTER CULT'S STEVE LaCERRA-FOH ONLINE MAGAZINE-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14....

Steve LaCerra, FOH for Blue Oyster Cult, recently did an article for a publication he is extremely active with-FOH Online. It was entitled "Can You Hear What I'm Seeing," and the drum he was discussing was the 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. That drum is one of Jules Radino's main live drums for the band, and he has extensive experience with it.

Every time I see Blue Oyster Cult they sound incredible-Always. Steve is also a super popular person on the scene. He is widely respected, one of the coolest guy's going, someone who has taken time out for me since Day 1, has been a person always willing to answer my many questions, and is easily one of the best FOH Engineers in this business.

Thank You for this Steve....I really, really appreciated it. Next time I mention you though, I gotta go back to calling you Woody. This "Steve" thing is throwing me. I don't think I have ever heard anyone call you "Steve". You are Woody to all of us.....!

WESTON HORN & THE HUSH-GOOD DAY TULSA-MAT DONALDSON-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--8 X 14...

Weston Horn & The Hush recently appeared on on Good Day Tulsa for the release of their new album (Latest News 6/19).

Want to send out a big Thanks to Mat Donaldson for always having his 1.5 Steel--8 x 14 with him. That drum also appeared on the record, and is his primary live drum. I gotta tell you....The way Mat has this drum tuned all of the time, is truly something. I spoke with another player who was recently at the shop about it as well. When I am down in Tulsa...I have got to sit down with him and get some lessons on tuning..

Thank You Mat For Everything.....

PAT McDONALD....BEIER 1.5 STEEL--7.5 X 14.....

Pat McDonald recently received his 1.5 Steel--7.5 x 14. It is new, have only made a small number of these. and am really looking forward to his vibe on the drum. It's counterpart is the 1.5 Steel--7.5 x 15.

Pat has been off the road with Charlie Daniels for a little over a year, and is extremely active in his local scene playing with a variety of acts. He stepped down from his spot to take care of his daughter, which everyone hugely admires him for. In an interview, he had said he is a Dad First, a Drummer Second. Always the straight-talker...he is doing exactly what he said he would do. He is a world-class parent, & is a world-class drummer when he sit's down behind the kit.

It will be interesting to see how this drum flies with him. The 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 was his main on the road with Charlie Daniels, & the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 was his back-up. He also has a 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 which he used live as well. He said something to me one-time which is something I think of often: "The only two drums up on that riser with me are your's....". It is one of the greatest compliments I have ever received, and will always remember that. He also included the drums in the May 2016 issue of Modern Drummer. That is available to read on this site under "Articles".

Pat is consistently regarded as one of the great all-around drummers in the industry. I was at a show the other night, and talking to this drummer on the phone after, Pat's name came up. This particular drummer is a massive talent as well, and is just an all-around great guy. When Pat's name came up he said: "He is about as good as it get's..." I lost count a long time ago how many drummers have said the exact same thing to me.

There are a ton of people that miss seeing him play, and seeing him personally, as I do. I really miss this clown's sarcasm, and his wild, erroneous, and completely unfounded claims that my jokes are not funny. I would actually plan them out, but he would still shoot me down. Every once in a while though he will admit they are getting better, but I still am convinced it is a ploy to keep me down that way. My jokes are funny-Period.

The road will see Pat sometime in the near future. Again, everyone agree's, no talent this big can be localized for too long. Maybe a weekend fly-date gig will come along, etc.., Either way...It is something that myself, and a whole lot of people are looking forward to.....
